Markets & small businesses
Create recurring opportunities for Local Love vendors, food businesses, independent shops and new ideas to meet West Side customers.

HIVE Market Square · Nonprofit community arm
HIVE Market Square brings daytime energy to the eastern Harrison Avenue corridor and strengthens the connection toward Westwood—while supporting the restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and established entertainment district that make Cheviot a complete destination from morning into night.

What the nonprofit supports
The HIVE Market is the retail anchor. HIVE Market Square is the community-focused nonprofit arm—adding a daytime chapter to a Cheviot story that already includes coffee, bakeries, restaurants, DORA and a lively evening entertainment district.
Create recurring opportunities for Local Love vendors, food businesses, independent shops and new ideas to meet West Side customers.
Bring people together through seasonal markets, live music, food trucks, outdoor gathering, classes and community celebrations.
Help visitors move between Market Square, daytime businesses, Cheviot’s entertainment district and nearby Westwood—choosing the experience that fits them.

HIVE · Community Vision 2027
Cincinnati’s West Side · Cheviot DORA District
Beginning in 2027, we are inviting the right nonprofit, civic and hospitality partners to help turn a landmark property into a year-round West Side destination.
From vision to action
Some partners will help bring color to the street. Some will help light it. Others will sponsor weekly music, build the Pavilion or create the hospitality anchor beside it. Every role moves Cheviot toward a more walkable, welcoming and economically active future.
The investment roadmap
These early planning goals turn the complete vision into visible, fundable projects—beginning with streetscape beauty and weekly activity, then building toward permanent community infrastructure.
Three visible community investments
52 weeks of live music at $500 per week
Selected goal · 01
Community donations · General Fund
Direct capital project funding · Cost low to high
A three-block solar market-lighting projection, including structural support, engineering and installation.
A flexible, year-round home for markets, food, DORA-friendly gatherings, live music and community programming.
Other amount or flexible support · Greatest need
Planning projections are subject to site design, permitting, engineering and final contractor bids.
Commercial hospitality opportunity
HIVE Market Square is seeking an experienced operator, investor or development partner to explore a complementary distillery, brewery or meadery concept within the existing HIVE property.
Available street-level commercial space and upper-level expansion capacity create an opportunity to develop the concept in phases—with potential uses including production, a tasting room, retail, private events and hospitality experiences.
The preferred partner will bring a compelling concept, disciplined operations and the ability to help activate the Pavilion, strengthen year-round foot traffic and contribute to the continued growth of Cheviot’s DORA district.
Development highlights
Create an immediately recognizable public-facing concept with direct access to the Harrison Avenue corridor.
Potential uses and partnership structures are subject to due diligence, zoning, licensing, building-code requirements, financial review and final agreements.
Your place in what comes next
Whether you want to support a planter, sponsor a night of music, help build the Pavilion or create the hospitality destination beside it, there is a meaningful place for you in what comes next. We’d be glad to have you as a partner.
Around the HIVE
Market Square focuses on daytime activity along the eastern Harrison Avenue corridor and the connection toward Westwood, just two blocks away. That focus is designed to complement—not compete with—Cheviot’s established evening entertainment district.

The Brunch Club is our easy 10A–3P route: shop the market, enjoy breakfast or lunch, take a class, grab coffee or bring home something sweet. Prefer to dine at home? Shop fresh ingredients and prepared meals along the way—perfect for anyone who loves daytime plans or wants to be home before dark.
During participating HIVE events, DORA drinks purchased from an approved Cheviot location are welcome in the event area. Pick up a drink, enjoy the market, then use this guide to discover more restaurants, pubs, sports bars and evening stops across Cheviot’s entertainment district.
Explore Cheviot leads the wider view with its business directory and community calendar. These links help illustrate how daytime and evening businesses strengthen one another; confirm current hours and DORA participation directly with each business.
A gathering place for every season
The Square is envisioned as a year-round community destination. Programming will grow in phases, with each season creating new ways to shop small, eat local and spend time together.
Fresh florals, artisan vendors, outdoor shopping, live music, food trucks and the first easy weekends outside together.
Warm evenings, local makers, family activities, food, music and DORA District experiences that keep the West Side buzzing.
Pumpkins, handmade goods, fall flavor, Oktoberfest-inspired gatherings and community events made for sweater weather.
Twinkling lights, festive markets, seasonal treats, live entertainment and unique local gifts worth leaving the house for.
